Lollocat (Lorenzo Cattel) is a DJ, researcher, and multidisciplinary artist based in Milan. A graduate in piano from Milan’s Conservatory, Their artistic journey began with classical music. Over time, they broadened their sonic horizons, embracing electronics and delving into a musical exploration that spans various genres. Since 2021, they have been performing as a DJ, moving between electro, techno, (hyper)pop, and latinx music. Beyond clubbing, lollocat creates immersive listening experiences with a musical research that alternates between electronic, ambient, jazz, classical music, and experimental sounds. Holding a degree in aesthetic philosophy with a thesis on listening, in 2024, he launched Club Chimera, an event series dedicated to listening, partying, and imagination. Club Chimera events span from clubbing nights to a monthly radio show on Radio Ex Alge. In the latter auditory space, musical storytelling is enriched by cultural and theoretical reflections, exploring themes related to sound studies, aesthetics, and the sociology of music. Through Club Chimera, lollocat has begun to further explore the radio medium, offering sets that alternate between contemplative moments and more dynamic, club-oriented passages. Finally, Lorenzo works as a performer and dramaturg, collaborating on creative projects that merge music and the performing arts, including Barking Varietà, a performance co-produced with Amaia Rodriguez, presented in Milan and Barcelona.
