Born and raised in Hanoi, ling:chi is Mixmag Asia Vietnam Art Director and woman-about-music. Essentially a music selector, ling:chi’s approach to her various crafts is warm, humble yet ambitious, and most profoundly in the musical realm. ling:chi exudes the energy of a celestial tastemaker, creating a sanctity of pleasurable frequencies that give extra life to any dance floor. ling:chi’s fast development pace was marked by mixsets taped on Boiler Room and Mixmag Asia when just reached the age of 19. She is ever ready to take her audience on long and enduring adventures, whether that be laying down bumpy house grooves in a bar or club setting, or delivering a modest palette of house and techno textures at intimate and large-scale festivals. As a DJ she leaves a lasting and celestial impression both on and off the decks. Currently based in Ho Chi Minh City where she regularly plays across the city’s top DJ booths, you’ll find her on one side of town playing warm and fuzzy house grooves before scooting off to the other side of town to wrap up a club’s graveyard shift. Her tenacity for DJing is easily represented by her extensive and rather exotic taste in music — ling:chi has no fear when it comes to drawing a crowd closer to her and building intimacy on a dance floor. Her recent Europe and Asia tour received lots of love from fans around the world and brought her further in the musical journey. She has held residencies at The Lighthouse, Zion Sky Lounge (HCMC) and made outstanding appearances at notable festivals. Some of the artists she’s either opened or closed for include Sebastien Leger, Radio Slave, Jeremy Olander, Eats Everything, Licaxxx (for Mixmag Asia), Anastasia Kristensen, Soel, and Zenker Brothers. A name to be watched while she carries an armory of sonic weaponry, you can soon expect to hear ling:chi playing across the world.
