Le Filou began his musical career 15 years ago. It was the hype around Drum and Bass as well as Jungle, which motivated him to create his own music. First records inspired by labels such as True-Playaz or RAM-Records can still be found in his repertory to date. Classical elements of recording like turntables or battlemixer still influence his style and shape his individual way of creating DJ-Sets. Therefore it didn’t take long until he was given the opportunity to perform on stage at underground events: To date, the ‘Innocent Raves’ can still be seen as a household name to people from the Rhein-Main region. His entrance to the Kunstverein Karlsruhe e.V. was followed by several larger gigs in and around the city. Well-known clubs such as the Element (Karlsruhe), MS Connexion (Mannheim) and Gotec (Karlsruhe) finally led to his performance at “Das Fest” in 2004. He was furthermore active for a few more years with various of his own events, which he arranged with the Wicked-INC Crew Karlsruhe, until he decided to take a small creative break. With his Comeback in 2015, Le Filou presented a concept that turned out to be successful within just a couple of months: Techno in all its many aspects, coined by influences of the early years, offering an unmistakable sound with heart and soul to its listeners. Far from any kind of mainstream, he has gained the attention of the masses and continues to create an exhilarating atmosphere. As an established part of the nightlife in Karlsruhe, his sound ensures endless nights. His definition of intensity is sub-bass. Animated by labels like Drumcode, Intec, Suara or Minus, his Live Sets offer a good mixture of different genres, which manage to create a soundscape waiting to be explored. His main emphasis is laid on foresight and openness. Always looking well ahead, he seeks the unknown and ultimate. Rather than overwhelming his audience with bass, he aspires to create sounds that have the capacity to increase the heart rate and energize. With beads of sweat on his forehead he continuously seeks to connect with the crowd. From deep- to tech-house over techno, he keeps on using well-known genres with the intention of creating something new. Let yourself be flooded with euphoria, merge into the crowd and enjoy a sound of lightness. The longer the night, the more Le Filou rises to peak form. The formation of HYPE together with Stakes and Sascha Beyer has furthermore established a collective which signifies the exhilarating sound of techno. He himself defines HYPE as a close linkage of ghetto-and festival techno without a lot of fuss. With the likes of Axel Hoffmann (Salt’ n’Pepper Pforzheim), Jandee (Hashtek/NIT) and Tanzbar (Pforzheim) he has managed to acquire three first-rate DJs who share a common philosophy.
