In terms of style, Shri describes how he approaches a DJ set differently: “Most DJs organize their crates in terms of genre or energy and play a specific genre and move between energies. Early on, I used to do this too — but I found myself as a listener and as a performer getting bored with this approach, finding it to analytical and far less emotional. I now approach DJing like a great movie, my goal is to make my audience experience chills, joy, tension, warmth, and melancholy, and to leave them with deep thoughts and fond memory. This is how I organize my crates and what I strive for in performing my shows.” Shri has played alongside a variety of world class DJs and Producers including Ame, Stephen Bodzin, Sebastien Leger, Spencer Brown, Yokoo, Bora Uzer, Laolu, Fur Coat, Woo York, and many more. He has played at top clubs in the United States, like San Francisco’s Midway and Public Works and New York’s Superior Ingredients and 3 Dollar Bills, at the Movement Festival in Detroit and at Burning Man. Shri's love of the music scene doesn't just stop at the decks. He takes pride in throwing events that stretch the imagination and open the eyes and hearts of his attendees, whether it be free sunrise parties in scenic SF locations or as a founder of the iconic Burning Man art car, Discow.
