In the early 1990s, Korie made her mark as a party promoter in Detroit. Her downtown Detroit events became a sanctuary for creatives and those searching for a undergound party experience. It was here that Korie began collaborating with legendary figures in Dance music, including K. Hand, Theo Parrish, Ron Trent, Moodyman aka Kenny Dixon Jr., Alton Miller, Scott Groves, and Mike “Agent X” Clark solidifying her reputation as a key player in the scene. Beyond her work as a DJ and promoter, Korie Enyard is a vocal advocate for Black, LGBTQ, and women’s ownership in the dance music community. She understands that without the safe spaces created by Black gay people and women, the dance community as we know it would not exist. Her mission is not just to entertain but to preserve and uplift the culture and history of the communities that gave birth to this music.
