Kong’s residency at Brussels paramount underground club C12 has shown him thoroughly working the floor on any possible moment of the night. And he is affiliated to Kiosk Radio, where he holds a monthly residency. His carefully prepared DJ performances are vinyl driven and express a profound love for house music in a pure and raw form, staying true to the originators of the craft. He launched Hi Scores in 2022, a label meant to push forward both new talents and established names, all united by a devoted and idiosyncratic interpretation of electronic dance music. Hi Scores is the follow-up to Ensemble, the label and club nights Kong ran together with Gratts from 2013 to 2021, with music released on vinyl by Xosar, Aksak Maboul, Krikor, Zazou/Bikaye, San Soda and many more. In 2016 Kong & Gratts had the honor of performing one of the first Belgian Boiler Rooms ever, the resulting 60 minutes still being a blueprint of their shared love for deep and raw grooves. As an avid writer Kong has been unearthing many stories about the rich Belgian electronic music and vinyl culture scene. In 2014 he published the book ‘The Vinyl Frontier’ in collaboration with Red Bull Belgium, showing the private collections of famous Belgian diggers. In 2018 he set up ‘Brusseleir Digger’, an exhibition in ING Art Center Brussels during Listen Festival. He also founded the content platform ‘Our Scene’ for Listen, offering a voice to a bunch of Belgian exciting tastemakers. In 2021 he created his own publishing house ‘Afterclub’ to present ‘Missing The Club’, a new book written in the midst of the Covid pandemic. More exciting projects are expected soon. Kong DJ has taken his bag of records to almost every venue or event in the country including Fuse, Ampère, Kompass, Stelplaats, La Cabanne, Horst, Listen Festival, Tomorrowland, Dour or I Love Techno; and has traveled the world to club nights in cities such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Prague, Chengdu, Bangkok, Seoul and many more.
