Klavier

Klavier is the project of Colombian DJ and artist Daniel Zuluaga, based in Medellín. Active since 2018, his journey has developed through the city’s electronic music scene, initially connected to the Metropolitan collective. His sound has evolved through a continuous exploration of rhythm, texture and groove, moving beyond a fixed genre identity and drawing from different territories of electronic music. Progressive, dub, trance and hypnotic techno become elements within a broader sonic language, allowing each set to develop as a progressive journey rather than follow a predetermined formula. His background as an architect has deeply influenced the way he approaches music. The perception of space has been a constant interest throughout his practice, leading him to explore sound as another way of shaping experience. If architecture constructs tangible spaces through matter, music can create intangible spaces that are perceived, inhabited and transformed through listening. This perspective also extends into his relationship with machines and analogue processes. His exploration of hardware and recent immersion into vinyl have opened new ways of approaching selection and mixing, adding a physical and tactile dimension to his practice without limiting it to a specific format. Throughout his journey, Klavier has collaborated with collectives and platforms including Metropolitan, Hidden Beat and Medellín Style. His trajectory includes an appearance at Lovers Festival 2023, as well as participation in Errar es cuestión de máquinas at La Pascasia, an experimental gathering focused on improvisation and live performance. He has shared the stage with artists such as Rrose, Kangding Ray, Anna Wall and Shakti, among others. Today, Klavier continues to develop his practice through DJ sets and live performance, exploring the intersection between sound, machines and perception.
