Biografía

From starting out over a decade ago playing anything deep and electronic, his crowd-pleasing DJ sets progressed into deep house, downtempo and disco with some offbeat surprises thrown in. From Marvin Gaye to Marc E, on to Harry Thumann and Agoria, Kit’s sets have an intuitive sense of flow whilst always retaining a sense of party. The first time Kit’s name appeared on a flier was for a boat party, setting off a love for DJing in different environments. Not long after, while still learning the ropes and wondering whether he could connect people using the music he loved; the stars aligned. Kit was warming up his regular crowd at one of his first residencies, London’s 200 capacity Aura club, it was a Thursday night like any other, when Sven Vath turned up, he liked the vibe and decided that he’d like to play. What followed changed Kit’s whole view of what a DJ could do with underground music. Kit’s current musical style has been heavily informed by his Balearic summer residencies held in Ibiza, sparking off a love for the sunshine and good times beach party vibe. With this in mind when returning to London; Kit started his own Universe day parties in London. Fantastical mini-festivals showcasing up and coming acoustic music alongside the unquestionable talents of his guest DJs, Leo Zero, Ray Mang, Nicholasfeel, Pete Herbert, Toby Tobias and Bill Brewster. Kit’s love of music lead him to be scouted by Livemusic.fm to front and host their online channel, Live & Loud. Interviewing bands such as Hurts and Surfer Blood. In the process re-opening the door into great music; not necessarily four-to-the-floor and influencing the playlists of his bi-monthly radio show he co-hosts with comedian Luke Benson on Shoreditch Radio, The Benson & Proudfoot Show. Soon came the glorious summer months of 2010, with memorable DJ appearances at Hard Rock Calling and Wireless festivals in Hyde Park, T in the Park in Scotland and two six-hour sets at The Big Chill. On his return to the island Kit also made his debut for open-air party, Bam-Ba-Lam, warming up for man of the moment (and many moments to come) Tensnake. Back in the UK, this past year Kit solidified his residencies with Momo and Midnight Sun, as well notable appearances for ReviveHer at the Secretsundaze New Years Eve party, Motion at the Other Rooms in Newcastle warming up the floor for 2000 and One and headlining the launch of GoodLife in Leeds. The summer of 2011 is set to be his most exciting yet, with a weekly at KM5 in Ibiza, flying back and forth for Momo in London as well as the major music festivals in Hyde Park and with new residencies starting in Leeds and Brighton. “One thing’s for sure, ole’ Kitty is on the up – and not just on the underground house scene - he also harbours a deep desire to be the greatest wedding DJ on the planet (I definitely think it’s got something to do with all those bridesmaids).” www.feelmybicep.com
