Kiri Stensby, known mononymously as Kiri, is a New York-based artist, DJ, and producer whose slinky blend of techno, electro, bass, trip-hop, and acid house evokes both futuristic galaxies and freaky landscapes. She’s become an in-demand technician known for bridging club sounds with the avant-garde pop world by producing, engineer, and mixing for the likes of Eartheater, LSDXOXO, Lolahol, LEYA, and others. In her own productions, she creates sonic soundscapes that vibrate with ominous sensuality, as she plays with the lines between synthetic, natural, and all the mystical possibilities in between. “I’m coming from a sonic and textural standpoint rather than a songwriter standpoint,” Kiri says. “With structure, I like to establish a narrative, but it’s one based on tension and release—one that feels more open-ended.”
