KIMNA
Biografía
Seoul-based artist KIMNA - previously known as LORI - is the Founder of UNDERCITY, shaping her career since 2015 across the vibrant nightlife scenes of Itaewon, Gangnam, and Seongsu. Her experience in these key districts helped form a wide-ranging musical identity rooted in the expansive spectrum between techno and house.
Her sound is defined by the contrast between vivid melodies and weighty low-end textures, a balance that creates an atmosphere where light and shadow coexist. With a foundation in classical music, she values timing as an emotional tool - crafting smooth transitions, dramatic leaps, and subtle rhythmic breaks that weave each set into a cohesive journey rising toward explosive climax.
As UNDERCITY’s Musical Director, she has helped shape the venue’s identity and has been central to building atmospheres alongside global artists such as Bart Skils, Konstantin Sibold, Mha Iri, Marco Bailey, Airod, Scarlett, Jeremy Olander, Spencer Brown, Cristoph, and Risa Taniguchi. Her ability to shift a room - whether through bold momentum or the smallest delicate detail - defines her role as both curator and performer.
Audiences often describe her sets as being pulled into unfamiliar emotional spaces. By expressing fleeting intersections of light and darkness through sound, KIMNA creates experiences that go beyond dancing - inviting listeners to uncover new textures and moods within the moment. Her sets linger long after they end, carrying resonance, imagery, and the sense that another moment was still waiting beyond the final beat.
