Biografía

Kim first expanded his musical appetite with an indie electronic project. Starting out as a duo, the project boasted a formidable sound comprised of smart strings, deep pads and harmonic undertones. The band went on to achieve praise and support from Alex Barker (Kerrang!), Tom Robinson (BBC R6) and Huw Stephens (BBC R1) with performances at event spaces such as The Nest, The Cambridge Junction and Camden Barfly not to mention festivals like Latitude, Beach Break and Brownstock. Kim’s set on surpassing these achievements with his sights fully focused on delving right back into his passionate roots. Being an admirer of artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Theo Kottis and Pantha Du Prince you can be forgiven for feeling enamoured and perplexed by his mixing approach. Expect a production style that will never stray too far from the minimalist flow it seemingly possesses; inspired by the foundations of house, techno and dub - his output displays emotive tones intertwined with a set of core percussive elements that aim to keep crowds positively mesmerised. In recent months Kim has been able to display his multi-faceted capabilities behind the turntables at numerous events in cities around the UK such as Bristol, Brighton (including recent supporting roles for Bontan and John Digweed) and now London where he is holding down a monthly residency slot for Heyoka Recordings. It’s been a busy end to 2017 with Kim Roman releasing his debut single‘Tomorrow’ on Pablo Bolivar’s Seven Villas imprint, as well as a vinyl mix being broadcast live on Jose Maria Ramon’s Ibiza Global Radio show. Kim’s intentions are still set on sharing a deluge of exciting productions along with further scheduled podcasts and features.
