Kha'DJ is a Pittsburgh-based Nigerian-American multidisciplinary visual artist and producer/DJ. Growing up on stacks of cassette tapes and CDs that spanned West African funk, American jazz & gospel/blues, Italian disco, and Celtic folk music, they later developed additional interest in video game/film scores and international hip-hop; as a result, their warm sound draws from and includes a diversified mix of rhythm and percussion of cultures around the world and generations of multiethnic, genre-bending, & infectious dance grooves. As a DJ, VJ, and music producer, Kha'DJ provides immersive sonic experiences through the unconventional use of environmental sounds, mixing wide varieties of world music, and implementation of their own original works. Drawing from their multicultural background, Kha'DJ specializes in recontextualizing indigenous sounds for the modern downtempo dance floor.
