In 1997, already experimenting for some years with the production of electronic music, Kay started working as a DJ and got more and more involved in the national and international music and broadcasting scene. At the same time Kay released some tracks under different artist names and nowadays focuses on techno music under his real name Kay Barton. 2016 he released his techno track “Return 01” on Bonzai. 2019 Kay’s EP “MacroGod“ appeared on Emerald & Doreen Records, both digitally and on vinyl along with remixes by Dr Motte and Mijk van Dijk. After releases on Berlin-based record labels Neuhain and Ballroom in 2020 he became regular artist at Trapez Records, Cologne. 2022 he released his first EP on IAMT (I Am Techno) followed by remixes for Tom Wax (Phuture Wax), Ross Harper (City Wall Rec.) and his debut on Volume Berlin Records. During the years Kay played in many international locations, at events like or in the frameworks of Love Parade, Street Parade, G-Move and Zug der Liebe Berlin as well as for several German broadcast transmitters and radio stations. He currently hosts a monthly radio techno mix show on Evosonic Radio, the "Wiener Wohnzimmer". Together with his wife Eva he started the techno event series TRENDWÆNDE Vienna in 2023.
