Since the release of his debut EP, Junus Orca has had releases on labels such as NZ’s own Echo Train Records; shared by popular techno outlet HATE, as well as collaborations with Kamandi on the haunting track 'I Did It All', which in turn has culminated in performances for esteemed platforms such as Keep Hush and club nights such as HAVEN. Junus Orca's versatility spans harsh noise, ambient soundscapes, avant-pop and both industrial & dub-infused techno. Junus Orca's commitment to sonic diversity is evident from 2022's powerful industrial anthem 'Unnamed System', a collaboration with fellow Ōtautahi artist Social Sport to his 2023 record on the label Club Unique, titled 'A True Stream', offering an emotive journey with minimal, raw, analog percussive elements and ethereal synthesis. Both releases contrast the recent single 'bored of waiting', driven by a nostalgic piano lead and grounded by sparse but hard hitting downtempo drum patterns. Junus Orca shows plans to continue exemplifying his diverse sonic blending with collaborations pending release with Instant Fantasy for FIS's eco label Saplings as well as with Jaz Paterson, both set to be unveiled in the near future.
