Junn is an electronic music artist from Bogotá, Colombia. He started his musical career playing drums in metal and jazz bands. Later he fell in love with an Electribe MX and his obsession for producing, dijing and above all playing live sets with synthesizers started. He performed with his live set in events like Dekmantel Festival Bogotá back in 2017, Resident Advisor 24/7 in 2018, Baum Festival and Hermoso Ruido in 2019 and Festival Estéreo Picnic in 2020. He also presented his experimental performance at Arkta, an experimental music platform of live acts that worked with Mutek festival, in Bogotá. In 2019 one his dreams became true when closed the infamous Video Club dance floor with a DJ set after a live set from Legowelt. He has also played in different clubs from Colombia’s electronic music scene and he has performed as DJ in differents radio shows like n10as from Montreal, Upperberry Vibrations from Berlin, Rinse FM in France, and Radionica, La X, Overcast and Motif from Bogotá. He was resident DJ for three years in Theatron, one of the biggest and most popular gay clubs in Latin America which gave him versability in his sets. As producer, Air Texture selected one of his tracks for a compiled called place: Colombia next to Kompakt among other talented colombian producers. This is a series of worldwide releases that has the objective of social activism incentivizing projects in each country with the best artists from different places. His first vinyl 12” release was with the australian label Lay Down The Groove. He was selected by the international project of creation and sound experimentation Media Auris as sound artist. His selected work (Art. 104a) was presented in different national and international spaces including La Neomudéjar museum and Zapadores museum in Madrid, Spain. He also collaborates with the colombian label Ediciones Danza Negra, which first release was supported by Red Bull Music Academy. Junn is obsessed with acid textures and breakbeats, the rhythm and percussions are his most important highlighted elements in his work as producer, DJ and live performer. He is also an educator of younger electronic music artists. His real name is Juan Charry. He is a sociologist with a master degree in cultural studies, he is interested in culture, education, subjectivities and political culture.
