JUNA’s passion for music runs deep, stemming from a multi-generational family background of creatives, artists and musicians. Growing up surrounded by these influences, her love and respect for music was always part of her identity. As a child she was trained as a classical pianist, and later turned to DJing as she evolved into a young adult in Berlin. Her journey into DJing began while clubbing in her teens, where she quickly became captivated by the nightlife, the art of mixing and creating unique sounds for crowds that love to dance. Later, while studying in university in the Netherlands, JUNA’s interest in DJing took a more serious turn when she participated in a a queer DJ workshop course. This experience empowered her to pursue a career in music, and she soon joined her university’s event and party committee. There, she took on the role of organizing and managing university parties, while simultaneously honing her DJ skills by performing at university events and parties. Over time, JUNA gained recognition within the Dutch DJ scene, building a reputation for her eclectic and versatile style. She seamlessly fluctuates across various genres, drawing from Reggaetón, Brazilian Funk, Neoperreo, Techno, Italo Disco, Hard Dance, and Hard Groove to create sets that resonate with diverse audiences and the many communities she is part of, as a queer latinx woman. Her sets have spanned a wide array of settings, from intimate underground parties to large-scale corporate events and pride parades. She has graced the decks on multiple radio shows, boat parties, art community centers, feminist raves and clubs, each time leaving her unique imprint. One of her most significant and latest milestones came in summer 2024, when she made her festival debut at the renowned Weelde Festival in Rotterdam, marking a major step in her growing career. She also recently joined a queer collective “Queer in Wonderland” in the Netherlands where she is an event curator and DJ resident as of 2024. JUNA continues to evolve as an artist, always experimenting with mixing sounds between different genres and pushing boundaries in the different countries she DJs in. Her passion for music, combined with her commitment to creating an inclusive, dynamic environment, makes her a standout presence in the DJ scene.
