Music has always had a way of pulling me into the present. I grew up living in Panama and Germany where I was exposed to sounds I’ll cherish forever; salsa, merengue, samba in Latin America in the ’90s, electronic music in Europe in the mid-2000s. That infused with an Americana third culture upbringing abroad, I found my ability to relate to others without speaking. As I dove into the electronic music scene in my early 20’s, music became one of the many ways I learned how to make an impact on the world. Now as an artist, it’s always been my aim to impart that impact and presentness with others. I’ve experienced so many beautiful moments under a DJ’s spell, completely present-minded and entranced, it’s a goal of mine to give that feeling back. Now in a world full of distractions, giving someone the space to outsmart their smartphone is the best gift of all.
