Jose Vera
Biografía
The close bond between Jose Vera and electronic music started in 2014 when he discovered an overwhelming passion for club rhythms at underground dance events in his home country Ecuador. As a self made music producer, engineer and artist he managed to meet various mentors and references that sparked the art of accumulating diverse sonic material ranging from house to more experimental club compositions. In march 2019 when the pandemic spread around he was pushed to leave Miami and the recording studio to find new opportunities in the state of North Carolina where he established his music imprint “Rizumu Records” dedicated to explore the unlimited ideas around melodies and percussion incorporated in dance rhythms. He also established his own event “Time Lapse” in Asheville, North Carolina alongside co-founders Chris Fellinski and Ryan Robinson hosting artist like Chad Andrew, Sam Gittis, Moreon, Nicholas Latiff, and many more.
Jose began a most accomplished residency at “Static Age Records” and “Static Age Loft”, one of the historically premier record shop and lounge/bar in Asheville,
North Carolina; working there for two seasons, and developing an exquisite recipe for minimal club dance rhythms and more organic dance compositions.
His debut release in 2023 for Gene on Earth’s Limousine Dream sub-label Nug-Net “Not Even A Beat” for the label’s Winter Compilation led him to re evaluate his relationship with music and the way authenticity can be notable in his current and upcoming musical experiences.
