Joren
Biografía
As a music lover, Joren has been handling the art of mixing for over 17 years with charisma. Though his style evolved and crystallized over time, his passion has always remained intact.
His encounters with Chicago house and Detroit techno music marked him for life. Fascinated by virtuosos Frankie Knuckles, Larry Heard, Lil 'Louis, Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins and Derrick May, Joren immersed himself in this alternative musical culture.
From his beginnings, Joren made several pilgrimages to the legendary record stores of major world capitals to find the rare pearls of house music. These masterpieces create an amazing vinyl collection that form his DNA. His unique mix, melding old-school influences with sexy, groovy and underground tones, make house lovers ecstatic.
Joren quickly asserted himself on the Parisian scene, especially through his sets at the Rex Club; the Djoon, where he was artist-in-residency for 5 years; the Batofar; the Bains; and at festivals including The Tribes or La Blue. As member of famed collective Die Nacht, Joren has also thrilled the Parisian Youth in many memorable warehouse parties.
A traveler at heart, Joren had the pleasure of being invited to mix in foreign clubs including the Egg (London), the Wax-Bar (Tunisia) or the Culture Club (Belgium) ...
Today, Joren is out there sharing an uninhibited vision of partying, mixing in venues where he feels most at home, such as Nuits Fauves, where he played alongside Juan Atkins, Omar S, Chez Damier and Derrick Carter; the Djoon with Terrence Parker; the Wanderlust with La Chinerie; the Trabendo with Jus ED; and memorable parties like those of Le Cercle with Black Coffee, surrounded by some 2000 people.
Continually turned on by new projects, he recently began a residency at the Dada Club, which offers a new, experimental take on partying, intended for house & techno lovers and staged by explosive artistic installations. For the first edition, Joren invited DJ Masda, a pioneer of the Japanese techno scene. This party attracted more than 500 people on the dancefloor of “Le Chinois”, the inevitable alternative club chosen for the occasion.
"If luck is found by chance, happiness is found in one's calling.» Profound, musical self-expression. Fearlessly provoking emotional response. Instigating and creating symbiosis. Sharing. Transcendance. These are where Joren's happiness lies. This is his calling.
