What started as a hobby, has become an obsession for electronic music and performance. This has quickly transitioned into what is now his career; producer, DJ, radio presenter and creator of quality events. Johnny Rocka is a techno powerhouse taking listeners on a journey into his signature sound. Providing dark, dirty, and uplifting rolling bass-lines with emotive melodic and progressive characteristics. His talent and versatility have given him the skills to bring the right vibe to suit any dance floor. Taking influences from all things techno, his skills have been developed with careful precision inspired by the classic sounds of Sisyphos (Berlin) to Melkweg (Amsterdam). Mentored and motivated by world-class artists including the owner of popular techno label Patent Skillz, DJ Lion, Kaiser Souzai from Ballroom Records, Ash Roy creator of Soupherb Records, Cosmik Konnection and Minitech Project (Minitech Recordings). His first release ‘23 Degrees’ was picked up by Berlin Techno label Ballroom Records. This was distributed as a part of their highest-grossing compilation pack ‘Secret Ballroom Gems’. Including top-tier producers such as Kaiser Souzai, Albird, Gunnar Stiller, Ben Champell, Alan Banjo, Arches, Against and Burnside. This has taken him to perform alongside some of the biggest names in his field including DJ Lion, Loco & Jam, Gregor Tresher plus many more. In 2017, Johnny Rocka embarked on his first European tour. Landing in Amsterdam, he hit the ground running with numerous bookings at world-renowned venues such as John Doe Club “UNDRGRND”, Berlin Loftus Hall Club, Bratislava Radost Club as well as playing bars and clubs across the Greek Islands. Rainbow Serpent Festival 2019 was Johnny Rocka’s next dance floor dominance. He blew punters minds with his infectious and driving melodic techno on the Pelican Villa stage. This cemented him in the local scene and led to his presence at OneSixOne for the landmark 250th edition of the prolific Melbourne institution known as The Breakfast Club. One of Australia’s most internationally recognised underground club brands.
