John Gomi (beat.imprint / city of hungry ghosts) has been creating, mixing, and enjoying dance music in all of its forms for over 20 years. His journey has taken him everywhere from creating cut-up cassettes as a teenager in west Texas to playing art and technology conferences in Berlin. Apart from appreciating the roots and origins of beat-oriented music, john is constantly engaged with the broader artistic concepts that are a part of electronic music. Using his roots in improvisation, experimental music, bass, and jazz- while understanding of the forces at work behind modern dance music- he is actively steering things in his own new direction.
