Jesse Chen was born on the east coast of Taiwan, Hualien has always been his getaway place to search for inner peace. He has over 20 years of classical piano training alone with several solo piano competition awards at his young age. After moving to Taipei during his early 20s', Jesse dived into underground music ever since and has worked for Sony Music and as a French fashion brand agnès b. music director in Asia for years. Now, Jesse Chen is a fast-rising talented Taiwanese Techno DJ. In 2019, he co-created and co-founded Pleasure Always Brings Pain (PABP) with visual designer Sebastian Wu. He is always able to surprise his audience with liberal queerness, diversity, and inclusivity in Taipei with his sultry dark techno sets. He selected the beats to stand out through the mix of powerful deep techno, bringing fine details to the dance floor. Over years, He has invited the most artistic and celebrated acts such as Perc, Henning Baer, Emika, Daniela La Luz, Parallx, MCMLXXXV (Herrensauna), Introversion, Gerald VDH, Paàl, and the legendary Berlin techno/post-punk godfather Mark Reeder to Taipei. His DJ sets always combine tracks from different eras and genres, but still remaining rooted in techno while shedding light on sounds less frequently heard in Taipei. Jesse mostly plays tasteful techno without concession and his talent was promptly recognized and bought him to the 2019 Spectrum Formosa lineup, 2020 Mixmag Taiwan launched lineup.
