Jerome Soir

Jerôme Soir is a Berlin & Cologne based selector, whose approach to djing is deeply informed by years of experience in the urban and contemporary dance scenes. Shaped by cypher and jam culture, he aims to bring people into ongoing exchange while letting himself fade into the background of the night. Raised near the Dutch border and influenced early on by an underground rave environment –from gabber and hardcore to D&B and dubstep– he somewhat ironically developed a deep affinity for slow-burning selections. His sets move fluently between the diffuse margins of house and techno, weaving deep and dubby picks with progressive and techy influences, often with at least one foot in wonky electro, early 00er minimal and proggy territory. As co-founder of RUMORE collective, he supports subcultural spaces with a focus on low economic barriers and bridging local scenes of different cities. Whether playing solo or alongside his partner in crime as KAT:10, Jerôme has performed many formats from intimate bars and off-locations to clubs and festivals. Recent appearances include Callshop Radio (Leipzig), Giselle (Düsseldorf), Crack Bellmer, (Berlin), Süss War Gestern (Berlin), BulBul (Berlin), Orangerie NK (Berlin), Jaki (Cologne), Südbrücke (Cologne), Off-Bar (Cologne) and Arche (Innsbruck)
