Jean-Michel de la Night has been collecting vinyls since he was 12 yo (2008) and has been getting paid as a DJ since 2019. From Paris to Mexico via New-York, he pushes back the codes of club music by switching easily from one style to another. His DJ sets can range from soul, funk, disco, reggae, afro, latin, hip-hop to harder edged electro, underground 80-90's house, new wave, often all in the same night. He is not bound by any genres, but with a solid base in house, disco and electro. JMDLN keeps things odd, underground and doing his thing at his own pace. In 2021, he started organizing its own parties in Paris by creating with two friends the Sunclub parties. At the same time, he started working with the Mazette as a club resident and an event producer. During the pandemic, Théophile (his real name) recorded mixes for the well known French web radios Dia and Radio Sofa, for the Mexican collective Colectivo Miramar, and more recently for the Mexican radio Aire Libre, the famous Brooklyn based radio The Lot Radio and the Berlin based radio Refuge Worldwide in partnership with Trac'list (Djoon). In the summer of 2022, he became resident DJ and artistic director of the new Parisian venue doublevie, a three-storey audiophile bar and restaurant. He has hosted renowned artists such as Terrence Parker, Raphaël Top-Secret, Nick V, Young Pulse, Greg Gauthier, Tatie Dee and more.
