Jasmine Guffond is an artist and composer working at the interface of social, political and technical infrastructures. Through installation, performance & the sonification of data she engages the affective, embodying & relational affordances of sound as a means of creative inquiry. Research based artistic projects provide sonic experiential platforms that encourage listening as a mode of socio-political investigation, intervening in everyday situations & public spaces, as well as gallery contexts. She has performed live internationally at electronic music and art festivals including Heroine of Sounds Festival (DE), 2017 & 2023, opening for CTM festival (DE) in 2020 and a commission for Groupe de Recherches Musicales’ (GRM) acousmonium, premiered at Présences Électronique (FR) in 2022. Working with abstract sound as much as traditional musical structures she has released solo records with the Sonic Pieces, Karl Records and Editions Mego labels. A new album, “Alien Intelligence” was released in 2024 via OOH-Sounds.
