Born in Trinidad and Tobago, DJ and producer Janna N is currently based in Berlin where she expands her multi-genre sound. As an avid digger with an expansive taste palette, Janna’s sets are rather composed on mood and contain a predominant selection of house - acid, minimal, chicago, and UK - often blending in various sounds of breakbeat, bass, dub techno, electro, and leftfield gems. Her sound as a whole has been shaped over many years by afterhour culture; she is known for her long morphing blends and her ability to get dancers on their feet, capturing them into an endless trance balance between bouncy dance-forward high energy, edgy bites, playfulness, and dream. On her home turf, Janna can be found regularly locking-in dancers in Berlin institutions such as Sisyphos, Golden Gate, Mensch Meier, as well as extensive sets in underground raves to smooth waves on various Radios; HÖR, Cashmere, FLUX FM, Refuge Worldwide and more. During 2018-2020 she owned and ran her own venue in Trinidad for multidisciplinary arts, film, and music. There she began DJing in parties held at her venue. She soon began playing in all notable electronic events in Trinidad and Tobago and was known for her unique sound and style which was unlike any others in the scene. After returning to Berlin to study Sound Engineering and Audio Production with a focus on Sound Art, she became a monthly resident and host at Klunkerkranich Berlin. There, she has marked her work doing monthly bookings for one floor, as well as curating, booking, and hosting full-venue events. She is also involved in organizing and hosting various events and parties around Berlin, Europe, and Trinidad and Tobago.
