An insatiable passion and drive helped the mexican-italian DJ establish herself in no time. Her expressive and diverse sets have permeated parties all over Europe. Jamira's emotional take on obscure music pulls an audience into a continuous daze, bringing together crashing broken beats, acidic sparks and techno. Enrolled in her classical music theory and electroacoustic composition studies, she began doing live-performances and working with recordings and is mesmerized by the possibilities of storytelling through sound. Resolving her work around inclusive spaces brought her to work on a wide spectrum of projects, such as giving DJ-workshops, creating a diverse skill-oriented plattform for femme, intersex and non-binary individuals through different collectives and collaboratively creating audio-visual performances. Besides, curating her own events at the off-space Cuadro22 in Chur from a very early age on, her selection for the dance floor still embodies vividly the search for an invigorating collective stasis. Performing live as Jamira Estrada, she’s played at prestigious places such as the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich, Art Basel, Hauser&Wirth Gallery, Foundation Beyeler or Les Urbaines Festival in Lausanne.
