Jamesey Makin’ Moves, someone who has consistently been on the soulful house scene for sometime now and has cemented his mark. There’s not many outfits that this man has not provided a quality night of musical entertainment and playing professionally across his home city London and across the pond. Opportunities knocked in the early days which saw Jamesey hosting a radio show on Housefm.net and opening sets for prolific parties such as BBE Records, Soulogic, Kinki Malinki, Soul Kandi. Also holding residential nights with ‘Offthemeters.com’ spinning sets with Uchikawa (Japan), Atjazz, Neil Pierce, Zepherin Saint, Karizma, Kyri R2 and Frankie Valentine. His unique style of mixing, blending Soul, Rare Groove, Jazz to Deep Soulful House have set him apart and have projected into playing at guest spots worldwide in Sardinina, New York, Paris , Japan, Georgia , Dubai to name a few locations. The resume continued with Jamesey premiering a night with Matt L-S (working at Papa records at the time), when a meeting of minds and music was the start of a flourishing collaboration. The event entitled ‘Messages’ with guest DJ New Jersey native Jihad Muhammad (Bang The Drum/Movement Soul) which was a successful event with raving reviews. For both, it was a no brainer to continue to put ideas and thoughts of past experiences in the industry together and move forward. Now 11 years later, since the duo founded Makin’ Moves back in 2012 he’s gone onto play various clubs in London including The Prince of Wales (POW), Shoreditch Studios and more recently 93 Feet East, Grow in Hackney Wick, Cargo, Curtain Club. Internationally, The (WMC) Winter Music Conference in Miami in 2013, New York in 2014, Japan (2014/15/16), ADE Amsterdam and Shapes Festival in Zante (Greece) 2018, Georgia (Tbilisi, Batumi) (2016/2019/2020). Always keeping busy with more gigs continuing at Grow, Omeara, Jazz Café and abroad representing Makin’ Moves in the diary! Along with the residency, one half of Makin’ Moves Jamesey runs the A&R department for the label growing and nurturing new talent whilst maintaining a high standard of musical taste in , Dance, soulful and deep house.
