Originally from London in the United Kingdom, James started out in the vinyl era (mid 1990’s!) through the halcyon days of U.K. Garage where he took great influence from the major players of the time such as Tuff Jam, MJ Cole, DJ EZ, Grant Nelson and Todd Edwards, to name but a few. Having fallen away with the U.K. Garage scene itself in the mid 2000’s, James started to grow a love for a more funkier type of House which has carried on right through to the here and now. With great influence from his mothers love of Funk, Soul & Disco originating in the 70’s coupled with his own grounding in U.K. Garage and Funky House, James’s style can best be described as ‘funk, bump and grit’ with a constant 4totheFloor or 2Step rhythm flowing through it! “I just love playing with energy and passion and channeling what comes through my heart onto the listener! Genres are overrated and have a tendency to create limits, I generally don’t think anyone really cares, as long as the vibe is right for the moment and the atmosphere is alive and kicking!” Now working as a presenter on Select Radio, James has DJ’d at some of London’s major spots such as Ministry of Sound and Egg and is also under the tutelage of renowned Tuff Jam kingpin, Karl “Tuff Enuff” Brown and his Groove Skool.
