As a child this demon in the rising was drawn to a bevy of musical outlets. James Demon learned how to sing and to play the cello before even reaching high school. It was obvious that the universe had granted this boy with the gift of creativity. Little did he know that one day the music would become his entire world. James Demon was born Matthew Pentycofe on April 8, 1983 in Rochester, New York. This Aries fire sign was destined to seek out a life full of excitement and impulsive facets, nothing could stop this Ram. James found himself embarking on yet another way to express himself through performance art within the realm of musical theater. With a more mature adolescence around the corner he was bound to find the electronic dance movement that was so patiently waiting for this union. At 17 years old with turntables in possession, Matt was just fresh out of high school living in Las Vegas. Feeling an even grandeur need to express himself, and armed with a relentless desire for his newfound fixation, he was on a mission hitting every record shop he could find. His first vinyl purchase was Ben Sims Magnetic EP and he was instantly hooked, buying every record he could find. Revelating in his deep seeded passion to borderline obsession, James Demon and the music would be bound eternally. Spending the next few years jumping from different styles James eventually fell back into his first love Techno. He decided to put all of his focus into finding his own sound and creating a brand for himself. Drawn towards the more obscure, sexy, gothic and witchy soundscapes, this minimal-techno loving being had finally found his niche. He was re-born with a mission at hand to solidify a harmony between polarities like masculine, feminine, the light and the darkness. His love affair with music and the occult began to blossom into one entity. After studying music business in college, James was ready to embark on his next musical adventure. He decided it was time to bring his love for the esoteric and Techno together in the form of a record label called Occultists. The label launching in 2015 will feature artists who will emerge from the shadows bringing us to a higher state of being through music and esoteric knowledge. Who would of known this boy we once knew will have done something so much bigger than his mind could have dared dreamed. He will have captured the true spirit of musical expression and transformed how we benefit from a successful brand. By opening minds, sharing with genuine love, teaching others that we can move mountains, and that dreams do come true. This is not solely a musical or conscious movement.
