Beezy was exposed to the Detroit DJ greats (Electrifying Mojo, Jeff Mills, etc...) while growing up in and around Flint, Michigan, in the '80s and '90s. During the '90s, he cut his teeth djing for his rap group, MC Perspective & DJ Justice. Later, he learned how to DJ by watching local Flint legends Phizyx, Eduardo Scizzahandz, DJ Psycho, Steve Dub, and others. After a hiatus to raise his son and pursue a career in marketing and design, he returned to DJing in 2015, supporting Grand Rapids Soul Club and making notable appearances with Impala Sound Champions for their 'Saturday Night Special' residency in Chicago, and with Voyage Funktastique in Montreal. Since 2018, he has held down a residency at Linear in Grand Rapids, playing bi-weekly and booking DJ talents such as Sonorama, Peter Croce, Eddie Logix, Mike Medow, Ladymonix, Esteban Le Groue, and Dreas, among others. J-Beez has brought his sound to Detroit (SPKRBOX,Detroit Foundation Hotel, Heatwave Detroit at Supergeil), Montreal, Flint, Chicago and Grand Rapids. Currently, he holds down two residencies, 'Deep Lines' at Linear and 'Pleasures' at General Wood Shop.
