Island Times Deejay
Biografía
Based in London, Island Times Deejay is a selector’s selector - renowned for deep-digging vinyl sets that connect the dots between rare disco, modern soul, boogie, and house. His sound is soulful, percussive, and always rooted in dancefloor energy, drawing from a crate rich in obscure gems and forgotten classics.
He spent formative years as a resident at Electric Garden in Galway - a key outpost for forward-thinking club music in the west of Ireland - and at the vinyl-only audiophile bar The Big Romance in Dublin, where he honed his ability to work across tempo, genre, and setting.
His tasteful curation and analog warmth have won him recognition among discerning listeners and fellow DJs alike. His music has found its way onto globally respected airwaves, with plays on BBC Radio, Worldwide FM, NTS, and The Lot Radio, while his vinyl-only tracks - released on cult labels like Mystical Circles and Community Disc-Os - have become secret weapons in the bags of top selectors such as Gilles Peterson, Palms Trax, Danilo Plessow (MCDE), Mr Scruff, and Hunee - a testament to the depth and quality of his output.
With a distinctive sound that seamlessly blends across genres, he has captivated dancefloors in the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the US. Appearances at festivals like Forbidden Fruit, Life Festival, Electric Picnic, and Body & Soul have highlighted his ability to connect with wide-ranging audiences, earning him a reputation for sets that are both musically rich and dancefloor-focused.
From sunset warm-ups to peak-time club sets, Island Times Deejay delivers music with soul, swing, and serious digger’s credibility.
