Ian's DJ career begun 17 years ago playing at small parties, bars and clubs in his local area of Surrey. Teaching himself to DJ at a young age of 8 years old on his brothers Technics 1200’s motivated him to aspire to become a working DJ. It was upon reaching opportunities to be thrown in at the deep end through industry contacts that he began to make a name for himself in the clubbing scene playing at clubs such as; Ministry Of Sound, Pacha London, Lightbox, Plan B (Brixton), Inigo, The end and legendary nightlucb in particular Turnmills where Ian's playing abilities were recognized by high profile promotors leading on to him playing sets in Ibiza and many more London events and festivals. Being on the circuit for a couple of years had been specially important to him since he had the opportunity to spin alongside the likes of Steve Lawler, Enzo Siragusa, Darius Syrossian, Jamie Jones, Nyra, Reset Robot, Burnski, Jordan Peak, Krafty Kuts, X-press 2, Sarah Main, Hoxton Whores, Lottie, Norman Jay and many more industry heavyweights. From playing the London circuit and returning from Ibiza in the summer of 2009 his career stepped up a notch as Ian teamed up with another local Dj to create a very well known party Called ‘Eivissa soul’. The two hosted so many successful Events in the local area after 3 years they decided to take it to London where this acted as a catalyst to make them even more successful. After hosting 6 years of of parties they were finally asked the ultimate question. To host a stage at The Zoo project in ibiza. Ian Took his resident Djs over there to host Eivissa Soul’s final party before he decided to take a couple of years out to start learning how to produce his own music. After spending time in the studio and finishing a music production course at ACM in Guildford he was back behind the decks for a new adventure called Virunga. Again hosting parties in his local area and bringing some big names in the industry such as Ben Pearce, Denney and many more. One of the pr’s for the event caught Ian’s attention and he decided to finish Virunga and start a new adventure with now great friend Oberon Night-East (Obi) . Koncept Alive was born. Ian and Obi hosted a series of daytime terrace parties at a local venue in Guildford. Smashing these events every month there success was growing and the events getting more and more attention. After 2 years of hosting Basement nightclub parties and Daytime parties Ian was asked back to ibiza where he played a set at Space for its final year. After his massive achievement of playing at Space Ibiza his productions caught the ears of some big labels in the industry and he has now signed tracks to Natural Rhythm, Quanticman Records and Waldliebfamilien. Ian and Obi thought this was a great time to turn the event into a record label and release on there own imprint. This is when KAIO RECORDS was born.
