Ian Caos was born in Iztapalapa, one of the most folkloric areas of Mexico City. Since he was a child he grew up surrounded by industrial parks: concrete, rust and dirt being his main aesthetic reference. In addition, the chaos and surrealism that nourish Mexico City were essential elements to consolidate his aesthetics. Ian Caos seeks to recreate through his music the violent, murky and crazy way of life particular to Iztapalapa: panic, nightmares, chaos, mystery, concrete, dingy walls and thousands of cables entangled in light poles. Breaking with the same musical genre, Ian Caos's sets are rowdy and dynamic, melodic emotions being the main line to follow in his curatorship. His base genre is Dub Techno, but his dynamism leads him to experiment with various other genres such as Acid Techno, Electro, Goa, Breakcore, Latin Club, Hard House and Micro House. In addition to being a musician and DJ, Ian Caos is a videographer and one of the founders of Casa Caos, a production house based in Mexico City, which seeks to document the contemporary social problems of Mexico City through video art. Casa Caos also develops Caos al Aire, a program in collaboration with Inaudible, Techné Collective and Radio28 (independent radio station based in Cholula, Puebla), which broadcasts music from the electronic scene in Mexico. For Ian Caos, electronic music is not only a passion: it's one of the most sincere methods of expression, with which you can unite strangers to the same beat and be more yourself. Ian Caos has found in electronic music a powerful tool to express his emotions and his social and cultural panorama, in which, thanks to repetition, a primitive space of hypnosis and synergy intrinsic to the human being is created, which anyone who listens to it can dive into. Ian Caos seeks to renew himself all the time, he seeks to be ever-changing in each set, break the conventions and bring to new ears fresh proposals that remind us that electronic music is experimental by nature.
