Biografía

An open format DJ, Glasgow-based Hu-Sane takes you on a journey from Disco, House, Acid, Garage, and Jungle to Panjabi classics, Bhangra, Afrobeats and an excellent old pop edit. Being hard to define has ensured that every set is unique and maybe even a chaotic experience. Raised in Durham (Peterlee, to be exact), Hu-Sane struggled to find belonging in the nu-money rave culture of what was at the time a white area. Thanks to the internet, she found the UK Bhangra movement of the 2000s. She took to the decks from here and fell in love with UK Garage and Jungle. For years, she quietly played while watching other peers succeed and shine; she decided it was time to put South Asian music back on the map in Glasgow clubs. In 2022 she made her Edinburgh Fringe debut in the Saltire Skye Production of the award-winning “Bits N Pieces”. In the immersive theatre experience, Hu-Sane played a pivotal role in curating the music and the sound design and playing the main character's much-loved idol - Denis Sulta. Incredibly proud of her Pakistani and North East English heritage, Hu-Sane has curated a new project, Haram Haram/Forbidden Noble Woman, which seeks to empower female SWANA women to enjoy electronic music and club life. Not only this, she can be found across the airways in Glasgow and further afield. Hu-Sane is setting her horizons on a much bigger project, making club nights and music accessible and hearing-friendly to the BAME LGBTQI+ community. From Peterlee to Glasgow and now to the rest of the world, rest assured Hu-Sane won’t be hiding in the background any longer.
