HOOPERFUNK (Balazs Abel Ari) born in Budapest, raised in Toronto, Canada and living in Berlin since 2005 is a versatile DJ with a world of experience under his belt in the night scene. He currently holds residencies with the BalearicFreaks collective + at his weekly summer OpenAir series -Hooperfunk by HooplaBerlin- + at SoberSensation Events Berlin. He’s played around the world from Ibiza, to Shanghai as well as the Berlin club, bar, event and festival circuit delivering his brand of House Music. His style is Balearic where the soul of the music is the key, the groove is deep and infectious and the feel is always sunny and warm. Influenced by a 10yr night running parties in Toronto from the early 90s on surrounded by Classic House, Funk, Soul, Disco, Jazzy HipHop, frequent trips to the Balearics & of course living in Berlin, by some of the finest Techno around, his vibe is ‘familiar with a twist’ and ‘full of nice surprises’, not only musically, but also in influencing the environments where he plays. Being co-owner of HooplaBerlin (www.hooplaberlin.com) big colourful Hula-Hoops are a frequent feature at his gigs adding an extra fun-factor to his sets. He can be booked with or without hoops :) Also caters to special events public or private & where a dash of fun and some happy people movement is required, the right business, trade & corporate functions as well.
