honeybear started djing afters for a DIY art rave that he threw alongside Kunt Kute in Oakland’s Lower Bottoms neighborhood called "Horrible Tragic." at first, though, he was deeply inspired by his brief stint of sneaking away from church to late-night teen clubs in Indiana that would blast booty house well past the suitable bedtime for a teenager. fast forward to years later, diving into the Midwest rave scene provided him a new space in which to encounter and fall in love with breakbeats, deep-clubby house, hard house, and jungle. after much time feeding his voracious appetite for new music, his sound synthesizes all of these moments and more into an invitation for partygoers to shake ass next to brand new and old friends. off the dance floor you’ll find him in the kitchen preparing for his next food pop-up and teaching yoga at his local gym.
