Their performances are blending irony, grotesque, and references to the internet, queer and Polish cultures. Thriving on crossing the boundaries of absurdity, they fuse unexpected concepts and captivate the audience’s appetite for new stimuli by dynamically jumping between well-known acapellas, catchy melodies, and obscure genres. Their journey has taken them across the country, giving them a chance to perform at iconic events including Wixapol, Wixapolonia or IMBA, as well as in major venues like Tama and Ciało, and even on a sailing boat. Additionally, they are a co-founder of a project called jazda, being a postcringe duo whose sonic identity is based on post-internet humour, cringe and irony. Their current self-project, Patrioerotic, is reclaiming the right to patriotism in a space heavily dominated by far-right ideologies, symbols, and rhetoric. In this context, vixa and pompa - genres rooting from Polish queerphobic scenes, are being deconstructed, claimed and queered by HOELA$. This artistic endeavor aligns with their academic research as they work on a bachelor’s thesis exploring the reclaiming of patriotism through queer art practices, a topic they’ve recently discussed on Radio Żak.
