"Utrecht-based DJ, radio host, selector and producer Hauptgast grew up in Essen, a late-industrial metropolis nestled somewhere between Duesseldorf and Dortmund. Operating out of his parents house, Hauptgast started developing a liking for the sinister releases by the likes of L.I.E.S, Bunker, and Viewlexx. Equipped with nothing but a Yamaha DX21 and a TR-08 Hauptgast started producing his very own jams in the style of local heroes like Andreas Gehm. Getting himself involved with a pair of turntables seemed only like a logical consequence... After relocating to the Netherlands about 4 years ago, he started infiltrating the local underground electronic music scene. Informed by the long-standing tradition of the Westcoast Sound of Holland, Hauptgast's drum machine driven sonic identity quickly made him a favorite among the local dance community.
