Biografía

Hajdar Berisha was born in Nuremberg at the end of the 70s to Kosovan parents. His first musical heaven was hip hop in the beginning of the 90s. He loves the beats from pioneers like Public Enemy or Run DMC. To him, hip hop became a catalyst for finding and asserting himself. The inclination for poses or mere boasting is missing in Hajdar the DJ. He is not only a hit supplier but an orchestrator of unpredictable yet subtly smooth sets. “Not everybody understands house music... It’s a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing...” is a line from Eddy Amador’s 1997 house-hymn. Occasionally, Hajdar implements this track into his sets, or rather he weaves it in. The flow he delivers from track to track is always seamless. Hajdar undoubtedly possesses a great understanding of house music. In 1996, Hajdar Berisha visited the Loveparade in Berlin. This music festival along with the spirit of the city of Berlin deeply influenced him. In the following years, he was regularly drawn to Thuringia where he continues to attend illegal and excessive parties with friends. He is “Lost in Music” by now. Equipped at home with two turntables and a mixer, Hajdar Berisha crafts a grasp for the sound of the night around millenium. He can often be caught strolling through various record shops listening to tracks playing and on weekends he can be seen travelling through the republic. In the clubs, he raves it up euphorically but at the same time attentively looks over the shoulder of DJs when they are choosing their records. Today, he himself is one of those DJs who digs deep in the globalized world of electronic music and consistently plays fresh and newly discovered tracks. With an almost scientific precision, Hajdar Berisha refines his technical abilities before he sends out his first demos to clubs of Nuremberg. One faithful day, one of these business cards fell into the hands of Bernd König, who, under the alias DJ Glenn, is resident of Mothership, one of Nuremberg’s most radiant parties. Bernd and Hajdar created the DJ-duo Zweikörperkontakt and needed only one slot as the opening act for Moonbootica in 2005 to persuade the owners of Rakete with their B2B-Tech-House. The club at Vogelweiherstraße made them residents immediately and Zweikörperkontakt established themselves with remarkable effortlessness in Nuremberg’s increasingly pulsating scene. After the duo split up in 2010, Hajdar Berisha was able to make the next step. Hajdar Berisha has been a part of the Resident-DJ-Team at the Club Die Rakete Nuernberg for more than 12 years; first and foremost as the DJ in the monthly occurring event series Rigorös, Kiss Klub, Villa Vogelweiher and Immer wieder sonntags. Moreover starting in the summer of 2014 he has been organizing the Art and music event "Art Of Noise Festival". Hajdar Berisha has performed gigs in renown Clubs such as; the Sisyphos, the Katerholzig and the Hoppetosse in Berlin as well as the Harry Klein in Munich and Romy S. in Stuttgart. Hajdar also plays regularly at a diverse set of Clubs in the Kosovo and Albania. Starting in 2014 he took on the function of co-organizer and artist of the - by now - well established Zone Club in Prishtina. He managed to bring established acts such as Ricardo Villalobos, Tobi Neumann, André Galluzzi, SIS and Dana Ruh to the capital of the Kosovo. Berisha has also collaborated with Marcel Fengler in a musical guest performance at the internationally renowned Dokufest in Prizren. Berisha uses both vinyl as well as cd's during his gigs. His sound is based on classic genres of house and techno and his sets enjoy the use of older and often unknown pearls of house music. They give his, often multiple hour long, sets a colorful and passionate touch. Berishas performances thus never end up in a potentially uncomfortable monotony. Remarkably, his sets are always defined through an immersive main theme. Each aspect of his set is interacting and entangled with the next. He earns the praise of the audience especially through his use of deep and driving but also groovy and funky sounds, which create the narrative and tension that captivate his listeners.
