GYPSUM spent his formative years immersed in his father’s classic and psychedelic rock, bumping underground 90's hip hop, and grooving with his mama to funk and disco. In his household, dance was always encouraged as the ultimate form of intuitive expression. Being able to facilitate that expression on the dance floor via DJing is a great privilege and fantastic joy. When it comes to dance music, nothing does it better for him than deep minimal house. This variety of backgrounds has informed his current sound - Consistent groovers defined by delectable and punctual basslines, restrained melodies, deep and often dissonant tones, and inventive percussion.
