SAMATAR GUREY is an archivist and multidisciplinary artist based in NW10, London, whose work bridges high-energy soundscapes with community-centered storytelling. Blending genres like Jungle, Techno, Footwork, and other high BPM styles, his sets conjure chaos magic through unexpected transitions and sonic clashes that ignite the rave spirit. As a sound artist, DJ GUREY explores the acoustic ecologies of marginalized spaces—Raves, Blues parties, Ballroom culture—using audiovisual archives to evoke joy, healing, and resistance. Currently doing an MA in Cultural Studies and research in archival methodology to safeguarding Black origins of House and EDM music and foregrounding Blackness with British EDM history.
