Guaparda

An experimental vocalist, she honors both the musical traditions of her coastal Colombian family and the house and disco divas of her U.S. upbringing. The result is a surreal collage of nerdy references to music history, brujería, and the sonic fallout of American tech dystopias. Guaparda has collaborated with other artists shaping the Los Angeles Latino underground, including Akumen, Santiago Salazar, and Soltera. She has also performed with Detroit techno collective Underground Resistance.
