Groß Aktiv

Groß Aktiv is an industrial and experimental project spearheaded by liverpool musician and producer Charlie Hayes. Stemming from a deep passion of: industrial, IDM, drone and techno, groß aktiv takes cues and influences from the likes of Throbbing Gristle, Muslimgauze, SPK and a wealth of other experimental artists and channels them into their own vision of experimental electronic music. All written and produced by Groß Aktiv, the music has a diverse range in styles including; IDM, noise, sound collage, dub, ambient, downtempo and power electronics. Starting back in 2024, Groß Aktiv has since released the single 'Genuflect', which came in October 2024 which was a small insight into the ambient and brighter tones of the project. 'Genuflect' is a drone / ambient track that uses minimalist atmospheres and shimmering tones. In April 2025, Groß Aktiv released their first EP 'Reverberations into the Open Night'. This EP is a collection of drones and ambient passages made through improvisation, and phases through dark ambient, noise and post minimalism. In particular, the closing track 'Hiraeth', a 5 minute slab of ambient and drone.
