Grainger
Biografía
Rinse FM resident Grainger has become a key fixture across London’s diverse club scene since first venturing to the capital from his native Yorkshire, fulfilling and then constantly refreshing a lifelong love of dancefloor culture. The sort of seasoned, adept DJ that increasingly shines as an alternative to dance music’s stifling cycle of hype, Grainger’s stacked record bag is respected citywide for an eclectic and often surprising mix of house, techno and acid house.
Grainger’s superior reputation paid off with ease in 2021, emerging out of lockdown as a resident at The Cause, perhaps London’s most vital club space north of the Thames, sharing the booth with a cast of equally talented resident selectors and guests from further afield. In collaboration with Fall Forward, Grainger released ‘Every Little Thing’ on Dusky’s renowned 17 Steps label, receiving a barreling Skream remix and support from Pete Tong on Radio 1, where Grainger had previously appeared with a guest mix in 2017. This local collaboration promises to bore more delicious rave fruit very soon.
During recent times, Grainger has also extended a gracious hand to an inspiring series of friends and selectors guesting on his Rinse FM show, thus far showcasing music from the well-loved figures including Joe Goddard and Lauer, as well as newcomers such as Terr and Sedef Adassi. It’s all broadcast in the spirit of musical exchange, dancefloor opportunity and open-heartedness that radiate whenever Grainger hits the decks.
