Essential record producer, Dj , music supervisor and label owner : Antoine Harispuru aka Golden Bug is nothing short of a true incredibly multi-talented artist ; delivering consistently excellent levels of disco-tinged house and electronica for the last ten years on labels like La Belle, Les Disques de la Mort, Höga Nord, Gomma, Multi Culti and Kompakt. Details about his early years are scant but really interesting : born in Paris in his mother's toy shop (La Maison du Robot) he apparently got his early education by... well, a robot named Victor : a sentient japanese prototype of AI-based bot who took care of him from the cradle to the sampler. What we also know is that as Antoine turned 16, Victor got him a Roland TR808, an EMU sampler and some disco records. Jumpcut to 2007 - little Antoine is now Golden Bug and his first solo EP Barbie's Back is out on german label Gomma. It's a huge success for the ghetto-disco wizkid as everyone starts falling in love for his sound : his first album Hot Robot , is released in 2008 and Erol Alkan, Jori Hulkonnen, Prins Thomas, Digitalism, Shit Robot play his tracks all around the world. A sound redefining the club vibes : a ghetto-inspired forward-thinking mix of booming basses, crispy synths and never-heard-before cut up voices. Hot Robot is an unforgivable groovathon earning him calls from pretty much everyone : he remixed Who Made Who, Bot’Ox, In Flagranti, Two Door Cinema Club, Alex Metric, Kid Gloves, Clap Rules and more : everybody wants a Golden Bug remix. Next in the pipeline, 3 EPs follow : his sound is even punchier now, and at the same time more 'out there' and visionary. His tracks are played by people like Tiga, Chloé, Jennifer Cardini, Pedro Winter, Ivan Smagghe, Justin Robertson, Vladimir Ivkovic, Danny Daze and many more... He moves to Barcelona and after a world-wide live tour he decides parting ways with Gomma to create his own label, La Belle Records. He baptizes the imprint with its first release Soapopera (feat. Mustang), then there's One Way (feat. Tristesse Contemporaine) (remixed by Freeform Five and Kasper Bjorke), Room 666 (remixed by Red Axes), Wrong Thing (remixed by Remain, Jupiter Lion and Villa), Accroché à Moi (feat. Julienne Dessagne) and Krokodil. In parallel, Golden Bug releases a series of EP : Wild Boys, Progress and Bones on Ivan Smagghe's Les Disques de la mort. Every EP, every song, every mix is a step towards V.I.C.T.O.R, his second album. Thought, recorded and produced in his studio in Barcelona, the second album of Golden Bug features a number of collaborations : Fantastic Twins, Yann Wagner, Fabrizio Mammarella, Moscoman, The Supermen Lovers, In Fields & Pajaro Sunrise. To illustrate his world in a live way, Golden Bug collaborates with the art visual studio Desilence by creating the audiovisual show V.I.C.T.O.R that they inaugurate at the Museum of Modern Art of Barcelona (MACBA). Clever blend of discoid-flavored slow techno, organic projections and retro-futuristic mappings, V.I.C.T.OR LIVE immerses the viewer in a unique experience. Taking the rubik's Snake shape, Golden Bug is getting here the perfect cocoon to go with his robotic roadtrips and to discover his so singular sound universe. Released in September 2016, the live is a success and has developed in a multitude of exotic and arty places in the world : Barcelone (Sonar Festival & Prima- vera Sound Festival), Paris, Moscow (Théâtre du Bolchoi), Bilbao (Guggenheim), Roma (Villa Medicis), Nantes (Scopi- tone), Marseille (Mucem), Vilnius, Dakar and many others... Early december 2017, V.I.C.T.O.R gets a second shot through the very expected V.I.C.T.O.R - The Remixes. Brilliants interpretations compiled by some of favourite contemporary artists of La Belle, such as Il est Vilaine, Get A Room, Red Axes, MR TC, Moscoman, Strapontin, Danny Daze, 2CV, DESTIINO, STA or Thomass Jackson. The original album was a vital and broad a air which touched on everything from adult disco to psyche-funk, abstract atmospheres to slow-fi techno. In July 2019, Golden Bug drops four slabs of illuminati science with his EP Cosmic Trigger on Multi Culti. Designed to illicit rapid brain-change on the downtempo dance floor, this is Chug-lorica of the highest order of pyramid power, an advanced exploration of occult psychedelia, alternate linguistic realities, cosmic triggers to unlock deeper meanings and higher truths. Following ,VibrationsMétalliques, his third LP,Golden Bug teams up with In Fields to creat a slow disco and spaced out ambient journey. Golden Bug's kind of extrovert and electronic sound is recognizable from his previous 7” Viaje A Tenderloin / Hitodoma release on Höga Nord Rekords and together with In Fields it gets dressed in a fluffier costume. Their musical roots In ”Leftfield land” intertwine and reaches up above ground, connecting to different musical stems and holds together the sound ; like sightseeing in a familiar town this album has outer limits but as unpredictable as the city can be, this record surprises you from one track to the other. In February 2020 , Golden Bug appears on the legendary Kompakt records compilation Velvet Desert Music Vol.2 curated by Jörg Burger with Variation sur 3 bancs feat. The Liminañas and reveals a first extract of his upcoming album Piscolabis on La Belle records. Clearly a producer you can count on when you get high and still want to dance.
