His work honors the present moment as the privileged dimension for an artist-listener communication. He also explores the way musical material affects form, following the instant composing utopia. These beliefs reveal themselves in very diverse fields, from the jazz-rock band Aparticle to the electronic music duo Catopter with Mattia Loris Siboni. As a composer, he has collaborated with directors and choreographers, fascinated by the perspectives opened by a dialogue with other artistic languages. He has also worked on live scoring, particularly with the collective Effetto Brama since 2020. In his latest production, Stermieri explores the relationship with words through writing and sampling, curious towards new hermeneutic horizons opened by verbal language. The first output from this research is “Up for grabs”, an album by Yabai & Adele Altro, released in 2022 by Verona-based label All Right Riserva. As a synthesizers junkie, he is MD for Tristitropici, art-pop band based in Bologna whose two EPs he also produced. His questions on the relationship between musical production and fruition, alongside a reflection on the political value of community, make him start together with Laura Agnusdei Impulse Response, unexpected music live program and netlabel. Fort Da, his solo and trio performance (with Luca Dalpozzo on bass and Federico Negri on drums), is a convergence point for all these routes. The Farfisa organ and the sampler become a living machine, together suggesting new creative trajectories. Fragmented melodies appear and disappear, rising from the contemplation of simple sonic stratifications or sinking into polyrhythmic trance, revealing a game in which we can experience the symbolic value of repetition.
