Performing under Gencia (FKA Fantastic Black Plastic), Nick Gencarelli is a DJ, collector and broadcaster with a passion for sharing under-appreciated soulful sounds from around the globe. Hailing from Adelaide, Australia and now based in London, Nick has quickly established himself as a sought after local selector from working behind the counter at Phonica Records to performing at esteemed venues including Corsica Studios, Number 90 and The Jago. Through his independent music agency and radio show Endless Grooves, as a resident at one of Australia’s most iconic and longest-running nightclubs Sugar, and as a technician at Condesa Electronics, Nick has facilitated some of his hometown’s most beloved parties and played a defining role in shaping its local music scene. Nick has regularly performed across Australia, including at Melbourne’s Section 8, Sydney’s Club 77, and Perth’s Si Paradiso, and has graced the stage at festivals such as Sanctuary, RCC, and the Adelaide Festival. A go-to support, he has played alongside world-class acts from Mr Scruff (UK), Jayda G (CAN) and Nu Genea (ITA), through to Chanti Celeste (UK), CC:DISCO! (AU) and Folamour (FRA). Outside of the club, his sweet sounds have been featured on the airways of stations like London’s Rinse FM, Melbourne’s Hope Street Radio and Adelaide’s Three D Radio along with online mixes for Duck!, Closer and Silent Palace. With deep crates in tow, Nick has the knowledge and experience to keep dancers on their feet all night long.
