Gemma Van D
Biografía
At the end of the 90’s, in her native home of New Zealand, she picked up her inaugural vinyl record and began playing her first gigs. By the late naughties however, she was living in Sydney where she had found larger audiences, a plethora of guest spots and a multitude of residencies which grew to include ’S*A*S*H’ & ’La Famiglia’ - and she became a part of the festival-throwing party-running label-curating crew, Subsonic Music. With her tunes in tow, her reputation around Australia had her travelling everywhere from Melbourne to Cairns and back across the Tasman to New Zealand for many of their best electronic festivals.
Supporting the likes of Lee Burridge, Carl Craig, Huxley, Rodriguez Jnr, Britta Arnold, Shlepp Geist, Alexkid and Rampa (the list goes on), it’s of no surprise that Gemma made the move to Europe in 2014 to be closer to the cities and people that have inspired her. Now residing in London, she often jumps borders to work her midnight magic in places deeply rooted in the electronic scene such as Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
