G1KIM first found his interest in music in 1999. Inspired by techno artist “666”, he started collecting different music and tracks, mixing them with “Cool Editor”, and sharing his favorite collections amongst friends. • A Japanese adventure His visit to Japan in 2005 allowed him to expand and diversify into Techno, Trance and Psy trance genres. •Hollywood here I come In 2009 he moved to the United States where he became a resident DJ for one year at the Los Angeles ‘Le Circle’. This opportunity also provided him with the chance to DJ in other well-known clubs within the Hollywood area. It was not long until G1KIM soon found himself DJ’ing at club AVALON (one of the most renowned clubs in Hollywood along with Bob Sinclair, Joachim Garraud, and DJ Ruff. He performed as part of H.O.B DJ CREW lineup and became one of the more sought after DJ’s in the Hollwood scene performing more than 10 times a week. Soon after he was chosen to become resident DJ at SUADE, Westin Bonaventure LA hotel for six months. His experience at SUADE helped him to become more sophisticated and refined in his taste of music. He also re-directed his style and based it more on Deep House, and Deep Techno. • Back to the roots When he moved back to Korea in the second half of 2010, he continued to perform in festivals such as Global Gathering Seoul, Sunset Rock Festival, World DJ Festival Seoul, etc. He also DJ’d during the Busan International Film Festval’s official ‘France Night’ event, and other small and big international events in Busan, Korea. • AM GROOVE & BUSAN Feeling that techno and house based genres were not yet fully developed in Busan, G1 Kim later began to introduce his own inspired versions of techno and house genres amongst the local and city night club scene. He later started the label, AM Groove, which was composed of photographers & artwork designers, DJ and VJ. Since it’s establishment, AM Groove has been an active and fundamental member toward improving and shaping Busan club scene. Events by AM Groove are held at least once a month and are led by G1KIM himself. Other supporting DJ's under the AM Groove label as well as other various guest DJ’s may also feature within these sets. Guest DJs have previously come from the Netherlands, Japan, America, Canada and Spain to name a few. Most usually begin their tour in Busan and then follow on to other events, such as the ‘Octagon BASE’ (Seoul) and the 'Bungalow Lounge' in Itaewon (Seoul). G1KIM continuously pushes the boundaries both in DJ’ing and event directing. His vision is to introduce a harmony between different styles of music. His passion and love for the industry has segued his journey to becoming a recognized respected Event Director and DJ amongst the Korean nightclub scene. With the help of this groove he became the Music Director of CASA32 in 2015. He is currently the director of Korea’s very first yacht party ‘Thebay101 WAVE YACHT LOUNGE’. He is still perpetually exploring new sounds and expanding his music, restlessly perfecting and progressing in his style. • Going Global G1 Kim feels his name and brand are now well established in Busan, and plans to focus on his international career from 2016 onwards. In June, 2016 He was invited to participate at the ELECTRO ISLAND FESTIVAL in Guam where he performed B2B set on the main stage with DJ ERIC SEO. 2016 October G1KIM has been played to one of Europe’s biggest conferences the “2016 Amsterdam Dance Event”with D.O.N.S and many other renowned DJs in the “Kingdom In Da House” event.
